"Most of my pieces have a seemingly precarious delicacy contradicted by sharp lines and constricting forms. Many people comment on the reoccurring visual sense of envelopment; either of parts of the body, or of other components in my pieces. I consider the contours of the body often and how the body can be informed by its relationship to an object as well as vice versa. Alternatively, my collection makes use of negative space or the duality between the substantial and the scant. To evoke the feeling of lightness, I tend to use materials that have a translucent appearance or components constructed so thin they may even disappear when viewed in certain angles." -SPYLXN
