Silphium

SILPHIUM is the Brooklyn-based studio practice of designer Onea Clare. The studio emphasizes reworked vintage and antique materials, as well as natural fibers and dye processes.

The line was born out of the designer’s affinity for objects and our abiding relationship to them—the manner with which we conjure memory and attach sentimentality. SILPHIUM is a project in care, endurance, and ephemera.

Onea Clare was born and raised in the LES and continues her family’s legacy of garment and textile manufacturing.
