Women's football has shown great excitement worldwide in recent years. Not only the top league, but also a community that enjoys football in various forms has been attracting attention. It may be related not only to the football world but also to “gender quality” that is said in various places. Meanwhile, the FIFA Women's World Cup in France, the birthplace of feminism, may be a major turning point in the history of women's football. It is important to note what changes will occur in the football world, where there is still a large gender gap. How is Japan compared to the excitement of such a world-class women's football? Now, eight years after the 2011 World Cup victory, it may be time to think again. “SHUKYU Stories” is a special issue of “SHUKYU Magazine”, a magazine launched in 2015. The concept of digging a single theme from various angles remains the same, but it is made up of content that more closely matches the theme. In this issue, we talked about the current situation surrounding the women's soccer community with people involved in soccer from various countries and positions. One of the attractions of football is that anyone anywhere in the world can enjoy it. Through this issue, I would like to think about what we can do to create a society where everyone can have a good time through soccer.
