The Wildfire Edge is a technical approach shoe that can be adapted from hiking mode to climbing mode. Designed together with mountain guides and professional climbers in the Dolomites, the Salewa Switchfit system is as simple as it is smart. Simply lace and tighten the additional eyelet to adjust the fit. This way, you pull your foot forward, compressing your toes similar to a climbing shoe for better edging and smearing and increased security on technical terrain. To convert back to hiking mode, loosen the laces for a roomier toebox and greater hiking comfort.

Inside the highly abrasion-resistant suede leather and microfibre upper, the thin, extremely breathable GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort membrane provides maximum comfort in a wide variety of climate ranges and protection from wet weather. It keeps your feet dry, while still allowing moisture vapour to escape.

To further enhance climbing precision, the Wildfire Edge’s insole incorporates an additional stiff Edging Plate right under the forefoot climbing zone for extra, directional stiffness, while the rest of the insole remains flexible to ensure good comfort and a natural rolling motion.

The Pomoca Speed MTN sole is made of sticky compound rubber for high friction on smooth rock and slabs. The outsole is designed with special lugs for improved traction on mud and soft terrain. It has been studied to provide effective grip in both wet and dry conditions.

  • Orders typically ship within 1-2 business days. Please allow up to 3 business days during sale or promotions for your order to dispatch. International shipping is offered via UPS and FedEx.

    Assembly is happy to offer in-store pick up at our New York location, 170 ludlow St. Please specify in the notes section at checkout that you would like to pick your order up in-store and we'll be happy to refund shipping costs. You can also email us at shop@assemblynewyork.com to request in-store pick up. You will be notified via email when your order is ready.

    Assembly is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen packages once proof of delivery is generated by the postal service. Missing packages will be pursued via the carrier's investigation process. We highly recommend using a delivery address that is secure and a shipping method that insures the items purchased, additional insurance can be purchased via our customer service team. USPS First Class packages are not insured.

  • Standard Return Policy:

    We are glad to refund/exchange any full-price, unworn and unwashed merchandise within 10 days of receipt of your online purchase. All items returned for an exchange or refund must be unworn and have any original tags or packaging. After 10 days, all sales are FINAL. No price adjustments. All sales final on sale merchandise, lingerie, books, gift certificates, candles and fragrances.

    Please send us an email for a Return Authorization code before returning or exchanging items. We cannot issue refunds or exchanges for items returned without this code.
